RCLC Temporary Toy Library
Temporary Toy Library at The Stables
In response to the current lockdown restrictions, we are opening a temporary Toy Library at our new site The Stables, 17 Duke St.
The Toy Library has been created to provide local families, who had previously enjoyed the services of The Cubby House, free access to toys during the lockdown period due to Covid19. We recognise in this challenging time while your children are in lockdown, they have no access to parks, friends or child services and are most likely bored!
We will be providing a Click & Collect service where you will be able to book your toys online along with an appointment to pick up and/or drop off your toys. This type of service has been approved by the Victorian Government as we will be complying with current social distancing guidelines and to strict hygiene practices.
How does it work?
We ask you to fill in the Membership form on this page. and pay the $20 returnable bond. Afterwards, you will receive a link from Cathy with the web address describing all the toys available. You then book a toy and wait for a confirmation email which will tell you when you can come and collect the toy.
When will it start?
Click & Collect Toy Library will be offered on Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm. We are starting the service on Wednesday of August and we will be running it through lockdown Stages until we can restart our children’s services and activities.
Parents are welcome to borrow a maximum of 2 toys (a tub is considered one toy) for a week’s loan.
Is it Covid safe?
We will be complying with all Victorian Government guidelines; staff will be wearing face masks, there is a hand sanitising station on entry, your toy will be waiting for you in the foyer, the foyer doors handles etc. will be cleaned and disinfected regularly, and we ask that you clean and disinfect toys before their return-we will then clean and quarantine toys before they are available for borrowing again.
Terms and Conditions
Hire is for one week only. If there is a circumstance where the toy cannot be returned by the due date, please let us know before it is overdue.
We understand that toys don’t last forever! If the toy is showing signs of wear and tear, please tell the staff member when returning the toy. If the toy is damaged or broken beyond repair, staff will determine whether the toy needs to be replaced by the member or a fee will be charged for the value of the toy.
Details of the borrowed item are clearly displayed on the packaging. We ask that members count pieces, check everything is in the packaging and return the toy in the same state is when borrowed.
This includes cleaning, details are provided.
If there are pieces missing when return is due, please let staff know if you need longer to find missing pieces you may want to return the toy and continue to look for missing pieces or borrow the toy for longer.
Toys are to be used by the member only, in their home.
There is a $20 returnable bond fee to join the Toy Library. At the finish of the Toy Library, this will be returned onto the member’s credit card.
